Jumping Jacques bids farewell to his Canadian forest friends as he departs for Paris
In the musical "TREES!" Jumping Jacques sings farewell to his Canadian forest friends as he prepares to join a shipment of holiday trees bound for Paris
At the Christmas tree patch, I learned by chance
The next shipment will be sent to France.
I'll jump the next wagon for the seaport;
See Jacques in France - a surprise import.
They'll see I'm kind, and lots of fun;
I'll be loved and admired by everyone.
I'm off to absorb the French culture.
I'm off to a Paris adventure.
Monuments, museums and cafés,
Mineral water and ice cream parfaits.
"There goes quite a handsome tree," they'll say,
When they see Jumping Jacques in his red beret!
My friends you'll never see Jacques again.
I leave you now to your wood domain.
My new friend, Bateese, I bid adieu;
The forest folks love you beaucoup.
Jumping Jacques is eager to see France;
There's so much more to life than
The forest and the dance.
There goes quite a handsome lad," they'll say,
When they see Jumping Jacques in his red beret!
I'm off to absorb the French culture;
I'm off to a Paris adventure.
I'm off to absorb the French culture;
I'm off to a Paris adventure.
